Advising corporations on Corporate Responsibility without taking on any responsibility ourselves? Clearly, that just doesn't work. In a second we would lose your trust based on our past performance along with the opportunity to enjoy your goodwill. So PwC has been leading by example for a good many years. Are we perfect? Far from it. But we do all we possibly can to improve each day.
We live up to our responsibilities as an audit and advisory company in our daily work, but also above and beyond it. We are a role model and want to be pioneers in our sector. Indeed, we advise and assist other corporations in harmonising corporate responsibility strategies with their business model.
PwC Switzerland focuses on the four subject areas most closely related to our work: People, Marketplace, Communities and Environment.
These four areas, also called “quadrants”, thereby bring a holistic view to our CR initiatives and define the way we treat our people, operate in the marketplace, interact with our local communities, and protect the environment.
This approach is also in line with our global corporate responsibility strategy. It provides us with a wide view of corporate responsibility’s meaning and helps embed behaviours associated with good corporate citizenship across the whole of our organisation.
In each of these quadrants, our CR efforts are linked to the goal of creating through our actions and behaviours a distinct PwC Experience for our clients and people. In this way, our CR efforts and the PwC Experience become mutually reinforcing. By promoting trust in the capital markets, developing our people as responsible business and civic leaders, positively impacting the communities in which we operate, and lessening our impact on the natural environment, we both demonstrate the social legitimacy of our business and set ourselves apart as a truly distinctive organisation.
