Dr. Markus R. Neuhaus

Dr Markus R. Neuhaus joined PwC in March 1985 and was admitted to the Partnership in July 1992. From 1995 to 1998 he was Leader Tax and Legal Services Zurich and in 1996 he took over the leadership in Europe of Tax and Legal Services Mergers & Acquisitions. From 1999 to 2003 he was Global Leader of this area. Since 2003 he has held the position of CEO and Territory Senior Partner of PwC Switzerland. From 2005 until 2007 he was a member of the PwC Global Board, from 2007 to 2008 he was in charge of continental Europe, and since 2010 he has been a member of the Global Network Executive Team.

Dr Markus R. Neuhaus is a member of the board and chairman of the Tax Chapter of the Swiss Institute of Certified Accountants and Tax Consultants, member of the board of economiesuisse, member of the Foundation Board of Avenir Suisse, Chairman of the Public Affairs Committee of the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Rotary Club and honorary auditor of the Zürcher Kunstgesellschaft. Dr. Markus R. Neuhaus also lectures at the ETH Zurich, where he holds the title of “Executive-in-Residence”.

Dr Markus R. Neuhaus studied Law at the University of Zurich and received a doctorate in Law in 1988 (His doctoral thesis was entitled “Taxation of income from shares”). He completed his second qualification as Certified Tax Consultant in 1990. He has also attended various management courses at international business schools. 

Throughout his professional career Dr Markus R. Neuhaus has published professional articles on various topics and also lectured on numerous occasions on taxation matters.
