Hans Wey

Hans Wey is a Partner and Chairman of the Board of Directors of PwC Switzerland.
Hans Wey (born 1952) is a Certified Accountant and has been working for PwC Switzerland since 1977. He was appointed to the position of Partner in 1990 and will hold the office of Chairman of the Board as of 1 July 2008.
Since 1984, Hans Wey has held a number of positions in management and immediately prior to his appointment to the Board he was head of PwC's Financial Services Audit section, in which some 500 staff manage all the audit mandates of banks, securities traders, investment funds and insurance companies. He has vast experience in the management of major audit mandates in this market segment.
In addition to his professional duties at PwC, Hans Wey has filled a number of other offices:
- from 1987 to 1992 Chairman of the Examination Board for Fiduciary Professionals
- from 1993 to 1996 Chairman of the Examination Board for Accounting Professionals
- from 2001 to 2003 Chairman of the Expert Commission for Bank Audits of the Swiss Institute of Certified Accountants and Tax Consultants
- from 2007 to 2009 Chairman of the Swiss Institute of Certified Accountants and Tax Consultants.
Since 2003 Hans Wey has been a Member of the Management Committee and was elected Honorary Member of the Swiss Institute of Certified Accountants and Tax consultants at the General Meeting held in October 2011.
