David's story
Varied work with varied clients

Hi! My name is David Weber and I’m doing an IT apprenticeship in Zurich and Basel. I’d like to tell you something about my experience:
- “My feelings when I got accepted for the apprenticeship weren't only positive. I was also worried about how I would cope in such a large organisation. Would I be good enough? Was I really ready? These were the sorts of questions spinning around in my head. But when my first day at work in Field Support in Basel finally arrived, I saw that there was no reason to worry at all. I felt welcome from the first day on, and knew that I’d chosen the right firm.
It can't be easy to plan an apprenticeship, but the way everything is organised at PwC is just fantastic. Every few months I get to change department and team to gain valuable experience in different areas. What I like most is having dealings with so many different people, and having to take a different approach to each individual. PwC is great that way. After only a few days of introductory training I was ready to work with clients and come up with solutions on my own.
Our college training is very well coordinated with the apprenticeship. I can apply just about everything I learn at college in my work, and vice versa. For example I can bring what I learn about networks to my team, which means I can tackle even bigger challenges.
I’m really enjoying my time at PwC and learning a whole lot. And I know there will be many more exciting challenges to come!"
