What qualities does PwC value in its employees?

Does PwC welcome people who are switching from another field?

In a constantly changing business environment, our clients increasingly need advice and support requiring people who don't just have a purely business or economic background. We strive to attain a healthy mix of staff, which includes employing people from other fields who can help us innovate and develop.

Does working for PwC involve a lot of travelling?

The amount of travel depends on the engagements and projects you're involved in. PwC expects everyone in the organisation to be prepared for a certain amount of travel.

Is it possible to move from one part of PwC to another?

Yes, we support people wanting to develop their career within the firm. We operate in such a wide variety of areas that there are plenty of opportunities for people who want to change.

Is it possible to join a PwC office outside Switzerland?

Yes, it is possible to join a PwC office abroad. You’ll find information on vacancies and the people to contact on PwC's international careers site. You must send your application to the personal responsible in the country in question. The precise arrangements for transferring to PwC in Switzerland should be clarified after a number of years working at the office abroad, and in consultation with Human Capital in Switzerland.

What areas can I do an internship in?

Internships are possible in any area, from Assurance, Tax & Legal and Advisory to Operations. It’s an advantage if your studies match the line of service where you would like to do your internship. You'll find more information at www.pwcstudentclub.ch.

What opportunities does PwC offer for work experience abroad?

You can apply for an internship in any country via PwC's international careers site.

Does PwC offer a trainee programme?

PwC does not offer a trainee programme. Instead, an individual career path is defined for each new joiner, who then receives support in the form of coaching and controlling. Their introduction to their new field of work takes place partly on the job, and partly via introduction weeks tailored to their specific line of service.

How does PwC help if I’m preparing for an exam?

PwC has a well-structured learning and education programme to support staff who are preparing to take professional exams (for example federal auditing or tax diplomas, CFA qualifications, etc). The coaching and controlling that are an integral part of employees' learning and education plan ensure that gaps in their training are identified in good time and appropriate training measures are taken to fill them. Thanks to this system, candidates from PwC have the highest pass rates for Swiss federal auditing and tax expert diplomas.
