We asked our clients and our staff members to describe the values and skills that our people should possess to do successful business. On the basis of their answers we defined core competencies for our staff. The very same competences are also assessed in the recruitment process using a range of standardised and competency-based instruments. This helps us evaluate the required skills and abilities, and ensures that we recruit the right people for the right job on an objective basis.
PwC attaches great importance to the combination of performance orientation and social skills because we see this combination as crucial. The main skills which we will measure using our assessment tools during the recruitment process are:

2. Online assessment (graduates only)
This online assessment, which should be completed at home, takes around 30 minutes. There are no right and wrong answers in this initial test: at this stage we are most interested in knowing more about you as a person, your values and attitudes, as well as finding out what your English skills are like. We will contact you by e-mail or phone once we have reviewed your application and the results of the online assessment.
Welcome to the PwC office! The first part is an opportunity for us to meet for the first time and get to know each other. We will present our organisation and the job, and you will be able to ask any specific questions you may have. This meeting is not a classic job interview to the extent that it is primarily about exchanging information. By the end of the meeting you should have a clear picture of what you can expect from PwC and the job. It will be attended by one person from the unit you are applying for and one person from human capital, and will last around 45 minutes to an hour.
In the second part of this meeting, you will be invited to take part in a detailed online assessment at PwC’s offices. This will provide you with even more information about PwC and the job you are applying for, and we will have an opportunity to find out more about you. In terms of structure, the second assessment is similar to the first assessment that you may have done from home, only more comprehensive. This test is designed to assess your behaviour and skills in terms of the competencies we at PwC deem to be important. Experienced professionals will also have to do an English test. The assessment will take around 1 hour and 40 minutes, and you will be provided with a PC.
4. Interview & Meet Your Team
This meeting is also always attended by two people from PwC.
The first part is the interview: We have developed a standardised interview, in other words an interview that is structured exactly the same for all candidates applying for the same job on the same basis. The goal is to ensure that we recruit on an objective basis. In addition to the defined competencies, your interview will also address your strenghts, interests and experiences, and your behaviour. The interview will last around 60 minutes.
The second part involves an informal introduction to your future co-workers over coffee or lunch. You will receive an invitation giving you a rough indication of how long this will take. You will have the opportunity to meet your future coach and team mates and ask them any questions you may have.
We will phone you to inform you of the outcome of the whole process. You will be given details of your salary, benefits and terms of employment and the working contract will be sent to you by post.
5. Hiring & Integration
Once you have accepted the offer, we want to ensure that you are integrated in your new team and the organisation as quickly as possible. For this reason, each new joiner undergoes a 12-month integration programme and will be accompanied by a buddy and a coach.
