To protect personal e-mail addresses, we use a so-called double opt-in / opt-out process, which ensures that no third party can register you for PricewaterhouseCoopers' e-Newsletters or cancel an existing subscription without your permission.
In the initial confirmation mail, the recipient has to click on a link, thereby explicitly confirming that they want to receive the selected newsletter. This is a reliable means of ruling out the possibility of you being sent unsolicited e-Newsletters, and also prevents your e-mail address from being deliberately entered on the database by third parties.
This process protects you against third parties deleting you from the newsletter distribution list contrary to your wishes.
How do we treat your personal data as regards e-mail marketing?
As soon as you have confirmed your registration for a Newsletter, your data are stored on the server of our provider, Mailprofiler, which is protected by 128bit encryption. These data are protected at all times. They are used only for our own e-mail marketing activities and are not passed on to third parties. PricewaterhouseCoopers AG updates the data from your profile using the general address database at PricewaterhouseCoopers AG.
For what purposes does PricewaterhouseCoopers AG evaluate users' behaviour as regards e-mail marketing?
Like many other companies, PricewaterhouseCoopers AG uses a system for sending e-mail newsletters that has functions for evaluating user statistics. Only your click behaviour in your personal e-mail is registered to allow us to subsequently optimise the structure and content of the newsletter and thus better address the information needs and requirements of all recipients. We also record whether an HTML mail has been opened. The time it is opened is recorded anonymously and not stored in your profile. No other evaluations are conducted, i.e. we do not gather any more information after you have clicked into the newsletter.
Hence we do not gather any information on your technical set-up, such as your IP address, type of computer, browser version or other hardware or software.
