Life at PwC can be frenetic, funny and so many other things. Each one of us live and experience moments and situations differently and we want to tell you how this experience look like by asking our people three questions about three first moments they lived when joined PwC.
Pashtrik told us about how teamwork can solve most problems and how at PwC you'll always find a person who can help and support you.
I remember my first day at PwC well ‒ it was very exciting and special. I knew PwC from my time as a contractor within the "Halo for Journals" (Internal Data Analytical Technology) team. During that time, I have had the opportunity to get in contact with a lot of different people but especially with people from the office in Basel. That’s where I work today. Though I knew some faces and the PwC structures, the “fresh start” as an Associate was a great feeling. Getting the chance to continue working at PwC but also start a new chapter of my life with PwC made me feel very proud. I started my first official day together with three other new joiners in the PwC Basel office. We got the opportunity to meet our team and were shown around the office. I particularly valued the relaxed atmosphere within the team.
Due to the rather special situation with COVID-19, several of my teammates were working from home when I joined the team. During the onboarding process, I came to the office a few times where I enjoyed my first coffees with my colleagues. The special conditions and restrictions we adhered to gave it a rather comfortable and personal atmosphere, and we had the chance to get to know each other as colleagues instantly. Of course, the pandemic has changed our ways of interacting with each other, but for me, the coffee breaks at PwC are still very important and enjoyable ‒ even if held digitally now. They create a room in which we can speak about things besides our daily work and let us connect and get closer.
The first big learning at PwC for me was that good teamwork can solve most problems. Often, you are faced with challenges that are much easier to handle when you work together with your colleagues. You will always find a person who has already had the same or a similar problem as you, so they can help and support you.
