Employer Branding & Talent Acquisition, PwC Switzerland

Great careers often start with meaningful connections. At PwC, our career events are designed to help students discover opportunities, learn about our culture, and find their path within our firm. But who are the people behind the scenes making these events happen?

Meet Aline, one of our dedicated career event specialists organising everything from university career fairs to in-house networking sessions. Follow along as she shares her insights and advice for attendees.

1 Tell us about your role and what a typical day looks like for you

As an Employer Branding specialist, my role is all about connecting with students and showcasing the opportunities PwC has to offer. During the Fall and Spring semesters, my days are packed with organising workshops, panel talks, and career fairs.

Outside of event seasons, I work on refining our strategy, developing new event formats, and creating promotional campaigns for social media. Staying connected with universities, student associations, and internal teams is also a key part of my role.

2 What kinds of events do you organise, and who are they designed for?

Our events fall into two main categories: external and internal. External events include university career fairs and presentations in collaboration with student associations or career centers.

Internal events, on the other hand, take place in our offices and often involve business-related workshops where students can work on case studies to better understand our roles.

We also like to get creative, for example we’ve hosted BBQs and cooking events where students can meet our teams in a relaxed setting. We’ve also embraced virtual formats, like online Q&A sessions through platforms like CareerFairy.

3 What advice would you give to students attending a PwC career event or fair?

Be curious and ask all your questions! It’s always impressive when students show they’ve taken the time to learn about us and have a clear sense of direction. These events are designed to help you learn about our teams and what we do, so take full advantage of the opportunity. Also, don’t forget to network - connect with our employees on LinkedIn to stay in touch. Your network could be invaluable for your career start.

4 How do the career events help students connect with opportunities at the firm?

These events are a chance to interact and grow your network with people from various teams and see if you can picture yourself working with them. They can share their experiences and give you a glimpse into life at PwC.

Plus, our recruiters are there to guide you through the application process, answer any questions about current opportunities, and help you decide which kind of role would suit you.

4 What’s your advice for students who are unsure which career path at PwC is right for them?

Attend as many events as you can, immerse yourself in our culture, and talk to as many people as possible. This will give you a well-rounded view of the opportunities at PwC and help you figure out which path suits you best. Ask yourself if our culture and teams align with your goals and values. That’s the best way to find your fit. We’re always available to answer your questions, even after the events.
