Beresford Caloia was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of PwC Switzerland for a term of office from 1 January 2026 to 30 June 2029.
Sebastian di Paola is stepping down after three and a half years due to his recent election to Chair of the PwC Global Board.
Zurich, 28 November 2025 – Beresford Caloia was elected as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Partners’ Conference of PwC Switzerland. He will begin his term on 1 January 2026, which will last until 30 June 2029; re-election is possible. In addition, the outgoing Chairman of the Board of Directors Sebastian di Paola was bid farewell. Di Paola will focus on his new role as Chair of the PwC Global Board as well as his national and international client mandates.
Excellent customer relationship and anchoring in the financial services sector
Beresford Caloia is a partner at PwC Switzerland and holds the position of Assurance FS Markets Leader. He is a member of the Assurance Executive and the FS xLoS Leadership and also acts as Business Unit Leader ASR FS West. From 2019 to 2022, he was a member of the Swiss Oversight Board, and from 2021 to 2024 he took on the role of Global Wealth Management Leader. Caloia started his career in Geneva in 1995 and joined PwC Switzerland’s partnership in 2008. He is educated with a Master’s degree in Corporate Finance. Beresford Caloia is characterised by extensive customer relationships and a large network within the financial services industry. Caloia will continue to manage his client mandates in his new role.

Di Paola has a career spanning more than 30 years at PwC. He started his career in 1991 at PwC UK in the area of auditing for financial services, and in 2007 he joined the PwC Switzerland partnership.
