Successful Deals with PwC: A group of Swiss entrepreneurs acquired Werap Group

PwC’s Corporate Finance team is pleased to announce the sale of Werap AG and its operating subsidiaries (“Werap Group”) to a group of Swiss entrepreneurs. PwC supported the founder and owner of Werap Group, Mr. Konrad Frischknecht, as lead financial advisor on the transaction.

Founded in 1971 by Konrad Frischknecht, the Werap Group consists of five highly specialized companies in the area of industrial electronics, offering complete solutions in the fields of electronic products (EMS), winding goods, cable assembly and power supplies. The company employs a staff of 140 people at its three sites in Bubikon, Wetzikon and Gerstetten (Germany).

In order to secure the long-term growth of the company, Mr. Frischknecht decided to sell the company to a group of Swiss entrepreneurs, consisting of Dr. Sara and Christoph Hürlimann, as well as Peter Huber, who will all join the board of directors of Werap Group. Dr. Sara and Christoph Hürlimann are serial entrepreneurs who have founded and successfully developed a number of companies in the healthcare sector. Peter Huber is a seasoned executive with 30 years of experience in leading global industrial companies in the aerospace & defence and other industries.

Under new ownership, the Werap Group will continue to pursue its growth strategy as an independent group of companies under the leadership of the existing CEO, Daniel Rechsteiner.

The transaction was signed and closed on March 28, 2022.
