We are pleased to announce that we have successfully advised St. Claraspital on its sale to University Hospital Basel.
Our team provided various support, including strategic advice, valuation analyses, financial and pension vendor assistance, and real estate valuations. It's a showcase how we can serve clients with multiple Advisory services with a team working together closely.
This strategic transaction brings together two leading healthcare institutions and marks a significant step toward strengthening university medicine in the Basel region. By joining forces, the hospitals aim to provide a broader and more integrated range of high-quality medical services in the long term.
As part of the acquisition, University Hospital Basel has seized the opportunity to consolidate and further develop the successful cooperation with St. Claraspital (Clarunis). The acquisition further allows University Hospital Basel to optimize its infrastructure needs, as the planned construction project “Klinikum 3” is no longer necessary. This shift enables more sustainable, forward-looking site planning and preserves valuable land reserves for future generations.
We would like to thank the board and executive management of St. Claraspital for their trust and collaboration throughout the process.
The transaction is subject to approval by the Swiss Competition Commission (WEKO).
