"Define and stick to your priorities"

Leila Wütschert

Works full-time as a Senior Associate in Assurance, in Geneva.

How do you live your flexibility deal?

  • I optimise my time when I am in the office. As we do not always have to be in the office, I make sure I am there when I am efficient. If I feel that I cannot do so then I would rather leave early and do something outside of work to come back with more energy the next day.
  • Communication is key. It is important to let your team know if you need to leave early. This way they know that they need to come and see you beforehand should they need information from you. But it also motivates them to have things to do outside of work and to leave for this.
  • It is important to have activities (sports, friends, family or any other activities). This helps you want to be more efficient while at work so you also have time for these activities.

What’s your best career advice?

Do something you love and you will never work a day in your life!

While it may be easier said than done, it is important to do something you love. Work with people that inspire you and that you will learn from every day. Think about whom you would like to resemble, this helps you in your own personal development. Be organised. Be fair. Recognise the people that work with you, share your knowledge, and strive for professional excellence.

My biggest learning:

Everything is possible. You can learn anything. You just need willingness and motivation. With these ingredients you will go far!

What’s your favourite PwC value and why:

‘Work together’: This is the best way to evaluate a whole team. To get the best out of each team member and help each other. A great example is when I was able to do a complex audit with our team. I learnt a lot from this and now know what they need and how I can better help them gather the correct information. We all gain time in this way and gain in efficiency!
