Change in time
Under current plans, SAP will end regular support for their core Business Suite applications on December 31, 2027. However, they will continue to provide support, for an additional charge, until the end of 2030. Customers using these platforms will have no choice but to migrate to the new SAP S/4HANA platform (either on-premises, or in the cloud) if they want to continue to receive technical support and releases from SAP.
Those who migrate 1:1 will experience some of the benefits of the new functionalities, but to truly unlock the potential of this new platform, certain factors need to be considered up front during the design stage.
SAP S/4HANA is more than a new product generation. In fact, what SAP is doing with the SAP S/4HANA is laying the basis for digital transformation, enabling an integrated, transparent and efficient solution for all areas of your business. This opens up possibilities for digitising existing processes, and conducting real-time data analytics, enabling new business models, and ensuring that your organisation and its underlying infrastructure is fit for purpose in the digital world. SAP S/4HANA does this by way of:
Migrating to SAP S/4HANA creates a new technological basis that goes far beyond a typical IT project. Therefore, more stakeholders therefore need to be involved.
PwC draws on the resources of its global network of technology consultants, industry experts and technical specialists in SAP to help you successfully integrate S/4HANA in your organisation’s systems and processes. Get a digital edge with the help of PwC’s experience in implementing S/4HANA, and experience the next generation of ERP systems.
SAP will halt regular support for customers with SAP ERP solutions by the end of 2027. For this reason, we recommend starting the transition to SAP S/4HANA – either on-premises or in the cloud – timely.
To succeed with an innovative ERP system your organisation needs both an appropriate strategy and a 360-degree view of what’s going on. We’ll share our specialist knowledge and many years of experience in advising on SAP projects and software for the cloud. We’ll support you at all phases of implementation, from analysis and building the platform to making sure your ERP solution runs smoothly.
Every SAP S/4HANA implementation or migration should also take tax into account. Tax specialists and key users within the organisation should be got on board early to make sure you don’t miss out on any potential benefits. The tax experts in our SAP consulting team will show you how to master the challenges of tax and global tax processes in the digital age, discuss with you how to make best possible use of SAP S/4HANA’s tax functionalities, and work with you to draw up your individual tax road map.
Together we’ll do an analysis of your business processes to work out how transparent and efficient they are, where the actual situation diverges from the desired scenario, how you can remedy weak controls of your ERP system, monitor the migration constantly, and equip yourself to address key risks.
Treasury & Cash Management has been completely overhauled for SAP S/4HANA, and the software environment is now considerably more straightforward. We’ll advise you on appropriate strategies, organisational structures, processes and controls in areas from cash management and cash flow reporting to managing your bank accounts. Finally, we’ll evaluate and implement the components you choose for your new SAP solution.
New technological diversity and new regulations such as GDPR are making the business of managing, monitoring and controlling governance, risk, compliance and security more complex. As you make the journey to SAP S/HANA, our GRC Technology Team will help you with the technical and/or conceptual implementation of SAP Security and Authorisations, as well as with GRC solutions for monitoring compliance.
We’ll draw on our comprehensive project experience to make sure the implementation of your SAP S/4HANA is a success. Together we’ll define the right migration path and moment to migrate. We’ll optimise your control processes to assure the efficient, long-term management and stability of your new ERP system. And we’ll let you know if we identify risks, control weaknesses or potential for streamlining your processes. We’ll also do a maturity analysis so that you can see how your project is progressing. We bring transparency, efficiency and project security to your ERP.
Changes like a new ERP software release require in-depth specialist knowledge and broad experience. With PwC as your partner, you’ll have the necessary SAP expertise at your fingertips. We’ll contribute the technical and industry know-how your organisation needs at all phases of the migration.
PwC offers you a comprehensive approach covering all the phases and areas required for a successful SAP S/4HANA transformation.
First we analyse the specific needs and requirements of your organisation and your IT infrastructure. We also examine your systems environment, the fields of business in which you operate, and support processes such as finance and controlling. The scenarios and target states will vary depending on whether you’re opting for SAP cloud, on-prem or hybrid solutions.
This is where we get your processes headed in the right direction. We work with you to plan the project, determine the future process model and the technical requirements and functions, and define clear objectives. Regardless of whether you choose to start completely afresh (greenfield) or optimise established processes (brownfield), we’ll provide your organisation with the necessary expertise.
This phase covers everything you need to be able to use the application productively. We also make sure that your organisation, business processes and users are ready, the systems have been implemented, and the data have been cleansed. Our specialists have experience with implementing SAP S/4HANA and will actively support you with technical and functional matters.
To make sure the system is integrated with your daily business, we provide support from the go-live and assuring a stable transition to regular operation and beyond, via our managed services.
